“Alright,that’s it. I have had enough of this, Tony Stark.”
Pepper stands in the doorway to her boyfriend’sdorm room with her hands on her hips as he looks at her in confusion as Rhodeylaughs.
“You’re going to take a break.”
Tony’s eyes widen at her statement then looksbetween her and his latest project several times.
“Come on, Pep. I’m on the verge of a breakthrough here.”
She shakes her head.
“You said that yesterday and the day before. Now,I’m going to make it happen.”
Rhodey falls off of his bed.
“I don’t know what you’re laughing about, Rhodey,because you’ll be joining us as well.”
“Seriously Pepper, there’s no need. Go take careof this miscreant, he needs the break. I don’t think he’s slept in two days.”
Pepper smirks at her friend.
“Don’t make me make Carol come up here.”
Rhodey’s eyes widen and its Tony’s turn to laughat his best friend.
“We’re also going to straighten up because I’msurprised neither of you have injured yourselves yet with all the books, toolsand whatever else is laying around your dorm room.”
Her eyes land on piles of tools then over at the halfempty pizza boxes then back to the guys.
Tony and Rhodey share a look, knowing they’velost.
“Ok Pep. You win.”
He stands up and stretches before helping Rhodeystand as well.
Pepper looks them both over before grabbing theirarms and dragging them from their room.
They may be geniuses but they clearly don’t knowhow to take care of each other; Rhodey used to but Tony’s certainly had aninfluence on him.

However, he can’t find it in himself to end the dance hewas sharing with the handsome and charming Prince James who insisted he callhim Rhodey.
The prince is so much more than he could have ever imagined and heknows how lucky he is to have gotten to dance with him most of the night.

Pepper walked up to him and took his hand in hers.
“You know Tony, I could make those disappear for good.”
Her hand gently rubbed some of the scars on his arm.
“We’ve talked about this, Pep. They’re a reminder of…. of what happened and what it taught me.”
The defeated look on his face made Pepper want to hunt down those who thought it would be funny to use, abuse then betray her soulmate.
Letting go of his hand, she cupped his face then kissed him gently.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and held her tightly.
When they separated, Pepper’s hand found its way back to his arm.
“I know how you feel about the scars, Tony but you don’t need to keep the smaller ones, the ones from accidents in your lab or scratches you got from the battlefield. I wouldn’t take away the bigger ones until you say so, if you ever do.”

SeeingPepper always brought a genuine smile to Tony’s face, no matter where they wereor the occasion; so it was no surprise the moment he stepped into her office, asmile blossomed on his face.
Before hecould say anything, Pepper spun her chair around so she faced him.
“I was justthinking about you.”
Smirking,Tony crossed the distance between them so he could lean against her desk.
“Oh really?Care to share with the class. Or show the class, I’m good with either.”
Peppershook her head as she smiled at him.
“I wasthinking, it was time to get away for a vacation and who knows,” she stood upfrom her chair then moved to stand in front of him as she placed her hand onhis chest as she looked at him, “maybe we could make your thoughts a reality.”
Tonywrapped his arms around her waist tightly.
“I like theway you think, Miss Potts.”
“I knewthat you would, Mr. Stark.”
He couldn’tresist kissing the smile off of her face so he didn’t fight the desire.
Relaxingagainst Tony, Pepper wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss fora couple minutes before pulling away.
“Let mefinish up here then we can plan our vacation.”
Tonylaughed as she shooed him out of her office.

“I’m worried about your coffee dependency.”
Tony looked over the rim of his coffee mug at Pepper who stood across the lab with her hands on her hips.
“Pep….light of my life, ruler of the world……you don’t understand, I need this.”
He held the mug close to his chest.
Looking at her boyfriend, she tried to not smile because he was a ridiculous man but she loved him and it; most of the time anyways.
“Tony, if you ate more and got sleep on a regular schedule then you wouldn’t need so much coffee or at least, switch to decaf.”
Of course, Pepper knew the last part would get a reaction, which is why she said it.
The moment Tony processed everything she said, his eyes widened and jumped out of his chair in outrage as his mug slipped from his and smashed into a bunch of pieces when it came into contact with the floor.
“Whoops.”
Tony rubbed the back of his neck as he grinned sheepishly.
“Well, now that there are no more usable mugs in your lab, you can come upstairs with me and take a break.”
Pepper smiled triumphantly, daring Tony to argue with her.
Letting out a sigh, he nodded his head then stood up and stretched.
“Jarvis, save everything then lock down the lab until I return.”
“Yes Sir.”
Screens flickered as the AI went through with his orders.
Tony walked over to Pepper then pulled her close so he could kiss her.
“Mmm…..so you have any plans for my break?”
Looking into Tony’s eyes, she just smiled pleasantly then stepped out of his arms and headed out of the lab.
Tony followed quickly.

Tony stared at her with a furrowed brow andarms crossed.
Letting out a sigh, Pepper could only wonderhow this could have happened.
“I said, ‘We’ve been celebrating our weddinganniversary on the wrong day for the past nine years.’ Do you have any idea howthis could happen?”
Tony’s brow furrowed before making a grabbyhand at the paper Pepper was holding.
“I’m a genius. This is impossible.”
“Ohreally?”
She stood there with her arms crossed in frontof her chest and a blank expression on her face while the paper was firmlygripped in her hand.
The emphasis that Pepper placed on her wordscaused Tony to panic as he looked up at his wife.
“Oh no, Pep! I didn’t–I mean to–that isn’twhat it sounds like. You’re a geniustoo. And this is definitely not your fault.”
“I’m twelve percent of a genius though anargument could be made for fifteen.”
Tony’s jaw dropped at her comment and he juststared at her.
A few moments later, Pepper gave into thelaughter that was bubbling up inside of her.
Getting a hold of himself, he grinned at her.
“You’ve got a mind like a steel trap to matchmine, Pep. It’s one reason we go so well together. Now can I see the paper?Someone, not me or you, made a mistake somewhere.”
Pepper handed over the paper then waited forthe fireworks.
Tony blinked once, twice then three timesbefore looking at Pepper.
“There’s nothing on here.”
“Did you really think that between the two ofus, we’d make a mistake on what date we celebrate our wedding anniversary?”
Tony blushed slightly.
“Then why?”
“You’ve been getting a little irritating lately so…….”
“So it was a prank?”
Tony smirked.
Pepper nodded her head.
“You’re devious, I like that.”
He got up and walked over to her then pulledher close before kissing her.
When they separated, he looked at herquestioningly.
“Don’t worry, Tony. We have been celebrating onthe right day.”
