Letter From The Editor February 2016
Hello all!
Tony Vainosky here, and for those that may not be familiar with who I may be, I am the founder, owner and creative editor in chief here at The Local Miami. My job is to ensure that the content published on TheLocalMiami.com is creative, captivating and accurate while getting you, our loyal readers, the information you want at your fingertips.
My purpose for writing this piece is to let you all know what has, and is, going on with us here at The Local Miami.
2015 was an amazing year for us here - from being chosen to cover multiple new music festivals, many of which were well outside of our immediate area (we were up in Atlanta covering Imagine Music Festival back in August) to covering the grand openings of new businesses here in Miami and even saying farewell to Miami nightlife staples like Grand Central - 2015 had it all.
Now that 2016 is upon us and we are well into the new year I wanted to update everyone on the vision we have for The Local Miami in 2016:
1) We are committed to continue our promise of providing our loyal readers and clients the absolute best by writing intriguing, informative and accurate articles.
2) We are investing even more time and resources into covering music festivals, as we have been getting more and more requests from readers and concert-goers to expand our coverage of festivals to include ones outside of the Miami-Dade/South Florida area.
3) We are expanding! We will be looking at taking on more writers and photographer interns in the coming months. Think you have what it takes? E-mail your resume to [email protected]!
4) We are also in the process of starting not one, but TWO non-profits! Without giving too much away yet (as there’s a lot to still be done) we can say that the two non-profits will benefit young people and our four-legged friends in our communities. (If you’re interested in learning more about the non-profits or are in the tech or animal rescue/care industries and think you may be able to help, please e-mail [email protected])
5) We are in the process of completely re-designing our website, so if you see a glitch or two, don’t worry! More than likely we’re just trying something out, unsuccessfully I might add ;)
6) We are going to be making even more original media, photos and videos in particular, that will include exclusive content, interviews, reviews & more that you will find ONLY on TheLocalMiami.com!
7) We are kicking off 2016 by jumping straight into the Ultra 2016 and Miami Music Week 2016 madness, so stay tuned to TheLocalMiami.com!
Thank you for reading and I’ll see you over at TheLocalMiami.com!
