Cautions Against Being Overly Available
"I started dating this guy who lived somewhat of a distance away. I went out of my way to see him when it was convenient for him. There were forces working against us and I didn't want to make things worse by being unaccomodating. My schedule was more flexible than his so it made sense that I should work around his schedule, right?
While in theory that makes sense, in reality he started pulling away more and more.
I've dated many guys since him and whenever I've been overly available I went through that same cycle. They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Never, ever, prioritize a new guy over your life. I won't even prioritize a new guy over a new episode of Glee! If a guy can't see me when I'm available, he doesn't get to see me. If he's worth it, he'll rearrange his schedule and will find a way to see me. In the past, guys would go from being super into me to nowhere to be found. These days, their interest only increases with time. That's how it should be!
Don't play or manipulate a guy because they don't want to feel like they're being yanked along a destination-less journey. He wants to feel like he's working to achieve a prize. Once he gets that prize he feels like the happiest guy in the universe. He will put you on a pedestal, he will let you know he cares, he will happily show you off to anyone and everyone, he will show you off even on your worst days. He will do whatever it takes to keep you because he knows how valuable you are.
When you are truly confident and independent, he won't take you for granted, he won't vanish, he won't tell you he "doesn't want a relationship" and continue seeing you anyway because he'll be too scared someone else will snatch you up if he doesn't. You're the prize, you're the catch, you're the most amazing girl to ever give him the time of day, your time is precious and he will do whatever he has to in order to make sure he gets to stay in your world."

If you’re constantly talking to him or texting until your fingers are sore, you won’t have time to get things done. Dating shouldn’t hold either of you back, so save the long talks for when you’re actually on a date. In the meantime, he won’t be able to get you off of his mind.
