WARNING: This is waaaaay too long. I don't blame/judge you if you don't read it because it is ridiculously long!
We got in stand-by line on Thursday night. We didn't plan it that way, but at 11PM about 5 people were already in line..
So, spent two days in the stand-by line in front of the NBC marquee. It was actually really awesome. And the weather was gr8.
We also saw Magic Johnson get in the building on Friday morning, which was weird but awesome. Friday night Bobby, Abby, Taran and Hader came out. Hader was the only one who just walked past the line saying: Hope you get in! The others took pictures with people etc. Later on I heard that Lorne, Seth, Higgins and some others got out too, but I fell asleep.
Saturday morning; getting tickets. The first 10 in line (we were number 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10) all got live show tickets.
Everyone went home and at about 10PM we went to Magnolia and then to 30 Rock. We just went downstairs, we sat there and slowly all 10 of us got there.. Not planned or anything, haha. At about 10.30PM we went "upstairs" and stood in front of the line. At some point we all had to stand in a different line and the page kept saying: This doesn't mean ANYTHING. Only when you sit down, you're in. The rest means NOTHING. Then the first 30 got through the bag check etc. And then we stood in lines at the elevators.. It was the most nerve wrecking thing. What was fun was that I looked across (the other side of the elevators) and I recognized the back of someone's head and then he looked to the right and it was FUCKING JON HAMM. I had a tiny heart attack. Jesus, I was just staring at him. He's just as handsome (or even more handsome) than he is on screen and in pictures. JESUS CHRIST. But, okay.
First, 4 people got called up. Then 8 more people (INCLUDING US). We got in the elevator and the page said: Enjoy the show! We were like: wait WHAAAAAAAT?! AND WE JUMPED UP AND DOWN IN THE ELEVATOR while it was still on the 1st floor AND first the doors closed and when we jumped they opened again which was the scariest/weirdest thing. Almost broke the elevator with our excitement.. AHAHAHA, that was so scary.. THEN WE WENT UP. GAAAH! We basically ran out, got our wrist bands. Nancy fell; she ran into a pole, basically tripped and then eventually fell against the wall with the pictures, which are in that hallway. So funny I can't.. And we also ran past Bobby and basically just exclaimed: I LOVE YOU.
Then we got to SIT DOWN.
WE SAT DOWN.
WE WERE IN THE STUDIO.
WE WERE IN. STUDIO 8H.
Moving along.
Suds came on the main stage and made some jokes. At one point he said something like: Everyone has got great seats because of the TVs. Except for you guys, those are shitty seats. He meant us. He pointed and looked at us. We sat at the left of the studio which are known as shitty seats. But, we were reacting with: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. So, that was great! Same with when he asked: How are you guys doing? And only "our" side reacted with: WOOOOOH. Suds was just talking with his sneakers on and in his shorts. Then Kenan performed this song with Nasim, Abby and Vanessa. I can't remember the title.. Sorry..
After that they just started building the set for the cold open. Fred came on as Osama Bin Laden. I cringed when they said: 45 seconds. 30 seconds. 15 seconds. 5 4 3 2... And then it started. It was live.
So, the Osama Bin Laden cold open ended. Opening credits. People Girls went CRAZY when Andy came along in the credits.. And then.. MONOLOGUE.
Tina came on. We saw her, we could see her on the TV from the front, and when we looked ahead of us we saw her from the side. Also, if you're going to watch it. Look for me waving my arms like a monkey (the blue dot is me, Nancy is sitting next to me, on my left):
So, Tina being all cute and stuff. Though, when Tina said something like: I'm not the only one who's pregnant in the SNL family. I was thinking: Wiig? What, no.. Then, Maya came on. I yelled: MAYAAAAAA. WOOH. WOOH WOOH. I love Maya so much. And when they started singing I died, and when they got all sassy and shit I couldn't be happier. You don't even wanna know how many times I've watched it/listened to it until now..
I'm gonna elaborate on the sketches right now.. Some have some extra info.
Sorry that is is SUPER lengthy, I just want to remember it all.
Fox News: Hader walked on the floor and waved. He sat down. Countdown. Bobby got on the stage, Suds (in his shorts), Darrell (!), Tina also, and Wiig was almost late and ran on. Laughed so hard at Hader's impression. Wiig KILLED me. I also was so happy that Darrell was there, seriously!
Little Mermaid sketch: We weren't really able to see this one that clearly, because the set was across the floor. It was pretty funny though. Also, Fred looked ridiculous.
Digital Short; Jack Sparrow: This was fucking brilliant. The first two times Akiva came on screen I said: 'KIVA out loud. Seriously though, I loved this. Also, the beat was sick~.
Ellie Goulding: I liked this song. Although, the sound was pretty bad in the studio..
Weekend Update: Before Seth got on, he did a little dance or something. He sat down. Countdown. Only 2 seconds, he said: Yeah, why don't you give me a 2 second mark? So. Update was gooood. When Ellie was performing I saw Suds walking around in this tight red zip hoodie, so when I saw he was standing on the side, getting ready to do a walk on I realized he was going to do The Devil. I heard his joke about Outsourced when I watched the episode at home, if I heard it in the studio I would've let out a HUUUUGE cackle, jsyk.
"That's too true to be good!", killed me too.
And omg, right before Hader walked on I got so happy! STEFON! It killed me. By the way, Mulaney was standing on the floor when Stefon was on Update. "SPICY". Just everything.. WHEN HE GAVE SETH A KISS THOUGH. I DIED. I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT SOUND I MADE. SETH WAS SO CUTE. HIS FACE. THEIR FACES. Also, if I remember it right, right after it cut out they hugged each other! Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not sure anymore.
Oh, and during Stefon. Tina and Jeff were just chilling; standing on the floor. Jeff was DYING and Tina was just sipping on some coffee or something.
Natural Birth VHM Tape: THIS FUCKING SKETCH. Bobby's face. And Maya KILLED it. Also, the sounds they were making, omg. Also, "that tape" wasn't pre-taped. They were doing it right across the floor. The set was so colorful, geeeeez. Oh, Maya.. When she was basically licking Hader's face I DIED.
BOBBY'S FACE. Also, when I discovered that Paula Pell wrote this I loved it even more. I saw her standing on the floor at some point..
Bedilia: I don't know why I love that sketch so much. Oh, and before the moving bumper they took a shot of the audience apparently and we're in there; I'm the blue dot and Nancy's the green dot. We didn't know we were in the shot so that was a big surprise when we watched it together..
Bedilia was great. We could basically read along with the cue cards and I really wanted to hear her (Nasim/Bedilia) say: Bye sexy.
Ellie Goulding: This was a pretty cover. Although I got confused because in front of her there was this huge autocue with the lyrics on it.. Ah well, still pretty cool. Probably just there if she forgot the lyrics or something, I don't know.
Pregnant in Heels: HI, I'M ROSIE POPE. Pfff, Abby's accent killed me. Jay got a cackle out of me too.
Oh, but right after this sketch, Tina got on the floor and stood basically in front of us. She waved to someone she knew (I guess..), I was just hoping she would look at our side AND SHE DID. One person waved, she waved back then WE ALL waved back and she waved back so freakin' cute, basically like this:
HOW ARE YOU SO CUTE??!?!
Googie Rene's slightly damaged prom wear barn: I just love Kenan. I loved Wiig. I loved Tina. I loved Andy. I loved Maya. And I died at the random music that played when Kenan/Googie walked. After Maya did her tiny cameo in this sketch her husband was standing there with her normal clothes and to help her with walking. So cute and thoughtful!
Hallmark Mother Collection: This one was just insane. SO creepy. Yet so funny. Paul looked psycho though, dear God..
Goodnights: This was just really cute. Sucks that they got cut off because they did such cute stuff.. All of the waving towards us~. All of the hugs.
This was just unbelievabley awesome. I'm still not completely realizing it.
Okay, also, why was Jim Carrey on the floor almost the entire time? Pretty awesome to see the man, but.. Why?
We got outside and stood behind the fences. I was basically in the front of the left side of the people coming out. I saw (beware of my face but I don't even care about how weird I look in these):
Seth and his girlfriend/goat
Wasn't able to talk to Bobby because I had no idea what to say. I yelled: BOBBY! And he just looked at me with his eyes and I asked: Would you like to take a picture with me? and he said: Yeah! Sure! Then Nancy took a picture. Look at his face! SO ADORABLE.
Pauly B (his back but also his front up close)
Still wasn't able to say something that made sense, I said: FRED! Will you take a picture with me? Fred: Sure! Me: I love you Fred~ Fred: LOOOOVE YOUUUUU~~~. He may be a dumb lesbian but I still like him.
I'M ON A PICTURE WITH MAYA FUCKING RUDOLPH. I CAN'T EVENNNN. CAN YOU JUST LOOK AT HOW PRECIOUS SHE IS?! GAAAAAH.
Renée Zellweger (she's so skinny, dear shiz..)
This was just.. I can't be negative about it.
Sorry if I made you jealous.. Not my intention. And if you read all of this; you're awesome. I love all of you guys. You guys are so supportive and I wanna thank EVERYONE who crossed their fingers for me or even prayed. YOU GUYS! YOU! Thanks SO MUCH!
I had the best time in NYC, and SNL definitely made it twice as awesome.
