Screw Delicious. Here's My New Bookmarking Strategy.
I read a ton of stuff and I've found that the best way to keep up with it all and be able to find it again is by following this strategy.
1. I read twitter on my iphone using Twittelator and send all the good links to Instapaper to read later.
2. I scan my RSS feeds on my iPad using MobileRSS and send the stuff I actually want to read to Instapaper to read later.
3. I read instatpaper every evening. The stuff I like, I favorite and it sends it to my tumblr blog (this place), Pinboard, & Evernote.
4. My Tumblr blog queues my favs and posts a maximum of 2 tweets per day between 10am and 1pm.
5. The Tumblr blog rss feed is feedburner
6. Twitterfeed checks feedburner for posts on the tumblr blog every 30min and posts the links to twitter including UTM tags using my custom url shortner (thanks bit.ly pro)
7. People from twitter pass through my tumblr blog on the way to the cool bookmark.
8. Google analytics tracks it all including the UTM code stuff.
9. I feel better about myself for sharing some of the great info that I get for free and giving links away to people that create good content.
10. Whenever I do a search, the stuff I have read and favorited comes up top in the results because I have tied Evernote to Greplin and I've got the Greplin chrome plugin installed.
If you see a more effective way for me to do this, please tell me via twitter
thanks for reading
