So starting this vent off with good news: My ankles aren’t swelling anymore. I'm not entirely sure why, but I'm just glad I don't have to wear compression socks anymore, tbh.

BUT NOW? A family member who I'm very close with is about to pass away. It fucking sucks. Everything fucking sucks.

Also... whoops. I completely forgot about 8/8; there's just been so much bullshit happening in my life that I don't even know how to begin processing it all.

I was gifted this book for my birthday, and made 3 delicious dishes from it tonight: sweet and sour tofu, the potato and spring onion pancake, and the stir fried water spinach method on a some kale. Served with white rice, and now I’m stuffed with plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I am looking forward to trying more dishes from Vegan Chinese Food by Yang Liu.

I also accidentally doubled the amount of sichuan pepper powder to the pancake but it wasn’t overpowering #next time I might squeeze out the excess potato liquid though for a crispier pancake

So I looked up what “burnt rum punch” is, and my searches bought up a German drink called Feuerzangenbowle. Seems like it mulled wine what you set a rum soaked loaf of sugar above, and you ignited the rum-sugar and let it burn up and stir into the spiced wine.
