29. drawing/writing on one another
Sitting in the archives together was a normal activity for them, a ritual that Braig found just as calming, if not more than, more conventional forms of meditation. He had his journal on the table in front of him, idly copying down a series of paragraphs from a spread of datapads before him. Most of them were weapons manuals, though there were a few form guides and even an art history book off to one side. His pen skimmed and scratched along the smooth flimsi, idly tracing and re-tracing a blueprint he’d been working on for the past little while, refining the details on the casing, trying not to make the design too deliberate - remembering, even now, what Professor Huyang had said, so many years ago - the shape and make of a saber was supposed to be decided by the Force, not by him. Just like everything else, he supposed. He put that pen down, next to the other two he’d collected, turning his attention instead to scrolling through one of the older manuals. He knew he’d seen the data in there, somewhere… Between all of these, he should be able to figure out how to recreate the pressure grip he’d read about in the book off to the side…
He’d glanced off to check the book in question when he felt a light scratching on the back of his right hand. He looked up to see Ahsoka, lightly etching some sort of symbol onto his skin.
“What’re you drawing?” He asked, leaning over to get a better look, and sitting back up to look innocently away when she shot him a pointed look.
“Fine, fine, do your work, I won’t look.” Even saying that, he shifted to peek out of the corner of his eye. “When can I look? Is it gonna be good? Like, good enough to leave on?”
timelines majorly messed up but like what about eadric meeting a lil ash tho. " you're my grandpa ? " ......,,,, " i don't like u " and she's got a little knife ( whether that's ra'arthak knife or her sparring blade in happy tiem verse ) and is fiddling with it. " if you hurt my daddy i'll fight u " and he'd probs be like " hahahahahah what is this " and then she'd like dROP HIM. nah but the point is i'm curious as to eadric finding out about ashla :'))))
W ell to be honest Eadric straight up denies ever having a son after handing Braig to the Jedi? Like, up to a few months after, he just avoids the topic, but after that? ‘No, I never had a child, I’ve no idea what you’re talking about’. He doesn’t want anything to do with Braig and blames Braig for his divorce lmfao But??? I dunno what he’d say about Ashy. Mixed feelings, probably. On one hand, that’s his grandkid; On the other, he never wanted a kid to begin with and never knew anything about Braig.
Probably just say “So, he couldn’t even be a Jedi correctly? Suppose it’s a good thing I’ve hadn’t to deal with him.”

virgoe and I then proceeded to spend a few minutes talking about how Boba would literally have to physically restrain Braig to stop him from jumping out of the ship to try and go back to the Temple to fight until they went into hyperspace

Garak and Shah-Ki Affgor were a set of Force-Sensitive, fraternal Weequay twins who served the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars era of history. Garak, the brother, had owned a green saberstaff, while his sister Shah-Ki used a ‘standard’ blue saber. Hailing from the Katarn Clan of Initiates, the twins kept largely to themselves, for the most part. They had each other, and, much as that may have frustrated the caretakers in the nursery and the Jedi who would go on to train them, that was enough.
A quiet pair, the two were comfortable using their pheromones to host private, silent conversations between themselves, only speaking to voice abstract or complex thoughts. They didn’t have many friends in their nursery days, but they didn’t really care. The nursery staff were admittedly concerned for them.
When they were eight years old, they went on their Gathering, along with Lohata, Booda, Naweh, Hano, and Braig, and even then, they mostly kept to themselves. They did spend a lot of time with the rest of their group… Only because they had shared lessons together. It took them a while to warm up to the rest of the group, though they did, eventually. By the time they were padawans, they were sitting with the rest of their Gathering Group for meals or meditation, and joining them for sparring, so often that they were considered as much a staple as any of their friends. Of course, like the rest of them, they had their favourites. Shah-Ki got along with Naweh best of all - aside from her brother - and Garak favoured Lohata’s company over anyone, aside from his sister.
Even with their friend group increasing exponentially with their inclusion into the group, they remained a quiet pair, speaking only when they had something to say. Adding the fact that they hailed from a clan that prioritised stealth meant that they found it very easy to blend into the backdrop of a room. While not good speakers, they were very good listeners. They wound up knowing almost everything there was to know about their peers, and a good deal about both subordinates and superiors, as well. I can imagine that the Temple was a bit of a rumour mill, and, if there was something to be heard, these two heard it. Many a mealtime was spent recounting the news of the day to their friends. The rest of the group would often say that these ‘reports’ were the most the twins spoke at onetime. In the end, it was just harmless chatter, for the most part, and gave the twins a ‘role’ in their social circle, which they felt they needed.
Both skilled Jedi on their own, the twins were terrifyingly effective when working together - so much so, in fact, that they were allowed to go on missions together, despite the attachment they showed to each other. Garak’s master, a human named Thom Kiira, would say that Shah-Ki’s more assertive personality was just what his (first) padawan needed to become more motivated, while Shah-Ki’s mentor, a Bith named Jin’Aha Grere, admitted that Garak provided a calm to their (fourth) young apprentice with a skill that was almost enviable. Besides, never did this attachment never seemed to get in the way of their duties, so they were only forcibly separated some days.
The two were on a mission together during Order 66 - the first one they’d been working together on for a long time, and were pretty excited about it. They were gunned down by their masters’ troops, not long after Thom and Jin’Aha had been killed when the building they were in was bombed by their fighters (Thom was crushed, Jin’Aha thrown off a balcony overlooking a massive canyon). The twins died reaching out to each other, but couldn’t quite reach. Just like Naweh, they were eighteen years old.
In a timeline without O66, Garak still dies at 18. Unable to ever truly cope, Shah-Ki nearly fell to the dark side, but was barely able to reel herself in. Still, she grew increasingly careless in combat, and died a year later, at age 19. Neither she nor her brother ever reached knighthood, and thus left behind no padawans of their own.
