For the top 5 ask. Favorite fanfiction from any fandoms. What do you read over and over?
ooh gosh this is sooo hard because my fic reading habits are definitely influenced a lot by what i'm actively watching! i tend not to read fic for a canon i'm not actively engaged with. but i'm going to pick out some kind of historical much re-read fics even if i haven't re-read them recently, and try to keep the criminal minds to just a couple! haha. these also aren't in any specific order, just grouped by fandom. i couldn't say exactly how many times i've re-read some of these! and fair warning they ARE all shipfic because that's most of what i read. i live for shipfic.
recovering the satellites by synecdochic. stargate sg-1, sam/cam. this is one of those rare fics that a) made me like a ship i never considered before, and b) made me like a character i didn't like before reading it. it is so. so. good. one of my favorite fics of all time.
Beginning's End by Irony_Rocks. stargate atlantis, john/elizabeth. in the show, there's an alternate timeline episode where elizabeth goes 10,000 years in to the past and everyone else dies. in this fic, john goes into the past with her. the premise is *chef's kiss* and the fic is so good, a great story and slowburn romance.
The Hangman's Hands by Mercurie. marvel cinematic universe, loki/jane. one of my more delightfully dark pairings i've enjoyed, lokane spawned a lot of delightful fic, and this one has got to take the cake for me. it's a beast at 166k and every word of it incredible. a WONDERFUL jane fic, my favorite character in the mcu, so often maligned and forgotten. and the loki/jane pairing is just. so. good. omfg. this is making me want to re-read this.. i haven't read it in years but it was one i used to pull out on a regular basis in my mcu days.
Hit Me Where the Heart Is by LSquaredSTL. criminal minds, luke/penelope. deliciously AU (most of the fic on this list are AU.. think that says something about me.. or perhaps about my fandoms lol), a 'what if' that gives garvez a different origin story. i love an AU that still holds on to characterization, not everyone can pull it off, but this fic marries a completely different backstory for the two characters along with the in canon storyline. and wonderful slow burn!! my favorite! this fic shot to my top faves early on in my criminal minds journey. i think i read it before i even finished watching the show up to 'current' haha.
Mercy by Bebhinn. criminal minds, luke/penelope. if there's ever an ultimate garvez fic list this one has gotta be near the top. alexei stanovich becomes a (bigger) problem and luke takes on the role of penelope's personal guard dog (canon accurate). there's also some fix-it stuff in here and brings back some characters into the canon that had left by this point of the story. everyone's in character and of course just delicious romance for my favorites.
