now i think most people agree that san is the top, but there are quite a few people who think woo is the top. then there’s quite a few people who think that they’re both switches. being a switch seems to be quite an unpopular option when it comes to shipping. though i honestly think in most cases, switching is the most realistic case scenario. but for some reason people prefer a solid top and a solid bottom. when it comes to woosan i personally think san is a top/dom (but i don’t think it’s impossible for him to want to be bottom) and woo is a switch and will alternate based on his partners needs.
let me explain why i think this based on observations, once again i am not a professional.
let’s start with SAN.
first of all, on camera san seems to be more cute, fluffy, and just someone whose cheeks you want to pinch. however, on stage he can turn into satan himself. we know that he is literally the epitome of duality. however, something that i’ve noticed is san often tries to be too cute on camera. to a point where he even exaggerates it. even his voice becomes pretty high pitched. people see him as the fake maknae that can’t sleep without his toy plushie, excuse me shiber.
however, i’m going to be completely honest, i think this side of him is forced. whether by his own doing or the company. there’s a vlive with seonghwa, yunho, mingi and hongjoong where they asked san if he is different off camera and he says yes, cutely. now, you may be like well duh, they’re all different off-camera. but san is someone whose concept i believe may be a little too forced. like hoseok for example. his concept is one that can easily and noticeably become overbearing for people to the point people know it’s fake. of course, i’m not saying hoseok is fake but we know what his concept is because it’s so in your face if you get what i mean. the reason i bring this up, because it’s important for people to realize that san probably isn’t this over-energetic, fake maknae in real life. honestly, i think his duality is a concept, because it’s highly effective. it’s a very refreshing concept. however, if you watch a normal solo vlive of him he seems pretty damn calm, sweet, mature, cool and collected. and i think that is probably the closest representation of who he really is. i’m saying this because we need to grasp san’s real personality, because i think a lot of people think he’s a bratty bottom due to the persona on camera. like there’s more people then i thought who believes san is a bratty bottom, and i’ve never been so opposed to something. is san playful? sure, but bratty? no way, that’s just not his personality so it amazes me when people say that. because san is the very caring type, and there’s no doubt in my mind that he prefers caring for others than being cared for.
now let’s talk about body language.
something that we’ve all noticed is san loves being the big spoon, i made a lengthy post with all the times san has hugged woo from behind. he is literally, almost always behind woo. let’s talk about that moment where san’s no-no was literally pressed against woo’s ass. i mean look at that expression. lmfao.
next, let’s talk about san’s stance, which may seem inconsequential but it isn’t. i think many people have mentioned san’s demeanor has changed quite a bit since debut. he was a scrawny thing, but he’s changed quite a bit, even mingi says he’s no longer a baby, and has abs now. lol. he always stands cooly and confidently. he often stands upright as erect as possible. he likes to appear larger than he already is, which is probably why he’s been working out and bulking so much.
let’s talk about san’s crotch display, like my man has taken manspreading to a whole new level. this a power stance, and it indicates superiority. something that san often does is adjust himself. very often. he does it in some videos more often than others. he likes to take up space, and expose his vulnerable areas. he also likes to show how flexible his hips are.
the most obvious show of his dominance is whenever he is with woo. his interactions with him in comparison to the other members is very different. a few other people have noticed that san becomes more “daddy” around woo, and i honestly think this is because woo triggers dom mode for san. here are some examples;
something that san often does is grab woo’s cheeks, it’s a pretty dominant gesture, and he does it whenever he wants woo’s focus on him and only him. i feel like this is a habit he may have picked up because woo has a tendency for avoiding his gaze, so he literally has to force woo’s gaze on him. he’s done this before during the treasure film as well when he was trying to distract woo from dancing by focusing on him.
here are some more examples.
i mean, just look at where they are, they’re in front of the cameras, and before both of these screen shots, i just want to make it clear that the atmosphere was pretty normal, but simply looking at woo triggers something in san. albeit i’ll be honest, in the second screenshot woo literally seduced san. he started dancing for him, but a few seconds before this san was laughing. lmfao. these are just examples of woo triggering dom san. at times intentionally, and at times unintentionally. he doesn’t always have to trigger him sexually.
here are some examples of him taking care of woo.
there are plenty of moments, but these are just some examples. anyway, this is also why i say san is more of a caretaker, because he seems to be more in tune with the role, he seems to enjoy taking care of woo. and woo has admitted that no one takes better care of him than san. to me, whenever san is with woo he just radiates dom energy. but, for some reason i don’t think he’d mind being on the bottom every once in a while.
but moving on to WOO.
now woo is a tough cookie to crack, but unlike san, i think woo’s concept is actually the opposite. he has the sexy concept, so he always has to appear cool and sexy. though, we’ve already seen plenty of glimpses of him being a loud, adorkable baby. though, i still don’t think we get to see how adorable he really is because the members have said that woo is much cuter than he actually portrays to be on camera. apparently, he has a lot of aegyo, san seems to know, ‘cause he said so. lmfao. apparently, woo’s also the clingy one, he can’t seem to stay out of san’s room or vicinity. remember on treasure film during the night he switched rooms and ended up waking up next to san? lmfao. it’s really unexpected, because woo seems to make an effort to seem chic and cool. but let’s just say, woo is actually much more adorable than we know.
so let’s talk about body language.
wooyoung is actually pretty dominant when it comes to his body language as well. but i feel this is more because he is portraying this cool, sexy, chic character of his. he’s committed to the sekshi position. but he seems more like a tease which is why i think he has the tendency to be a brat more so than san. he likes to tease and he likes to be a little shit. he’s always fully aware of his actions and he’s aware of the cameras. he’s like a fox, but i wouldn’t say he has feminine gentle qualities to him like jimin. he’s more like a wild, chaotic evil version of him. lmfao. people are probably expecting me to highlight woo being some dainty sub, but i honestly don’t think he is. he’s actually pretty aggressive in his approach to things. take these moments for example;
as you can see woo counters san’s aggression with his own, he isn’t afraid to meet san’s piercing gazes. he doesn’t cower away from him. they can both be very aggressive and very dominant. woo has a lot of confidence in himself and his abilities. he doesn’t particularly strike me as someone who’s submissive or at least in the traditional sense. and we also know woo has a very dominant personality, especially in comparison to san, he literally says something and san does whatever he asks. lol. so why do i think woo is more of a switch then? you’re probably thinking. because woo seems to like being taken care of by san.
here are some examples;
just the way he holds san, is much different than how san holds him. woo literally looks like a clingy baby that wants to be taken care of. as you can see he literally clings to san. and he loves attention, which san loves to give. this is probably the woo san sees the most often that we don’t always get to see.
so yeh, das it these are my reasons as to why i think woo is pretty vers and san is pretty dom, but can prob bottom every once in a while.
