Last night we gathered around Titus and prayed him forward. Today he started his first day at Calvary Chapel JH. He blinked back tears-happy & heartfelt ones, as he stepped into the passenger seat of Addie’s car. I love this stage between boy and man. My mother’s heart knows his love for home & his readiness to try something new. Both of us are intentional at holding on & letting go of moments like these. Together we soak them in, not letting them pass without being felt and acknowledged. One thing our family has learned over the past decade is obedience to God doesn’t always look neatly packaged. When God says “move,” we take action. No overthinking, no hemming and hawing, no looking back. Homeschool was not on the radar in March 2020, but then it suddenly was. 2 years later, we knew a school, away from home, was where Titus needed to be, we just didn’t know where or when. Then God made it abundantly clear. We called the school, interviewed, & 2 weeks later Titus is finding his way around his 3rd middle school in 3 years ☺️. New surroundings, used to be daunting, for this son of mine, but with each change, he gains new perspectives, strength, & confidence in himself & confidence that God is not in a set location with set people-He goes where he (Titus) goes. When you don’t know anyone and no one knows you, you learn God is everything & He will fill in the blanks in due time. Faith. Praying over you, Titus, God’s loving-kindness would be mighty today. Your excitement for this day has been huge & we pray God’s huge care over you. I will miss having you at home, immensely. Nehemiah & Gwenyth will miss you too-especially for ping-pong & history, & our Latin games. A little piece of my heart broke to watch you drive away with Addie, but another piece rejoices with your joy. You are special & every bit of 13, but not like how most boys are 13. With tears pushing their way through, I love you big. • Addie is now not just his big sister 👱🏼♀️, but his chauffeur! Praying God blesses their time in the car & Addie doesn’t bump into too many curbs. She can’t wait to visit him at break today 🥰.
