Topeca Coffee - El Salvador Manzano
Topeca Coffee - El Salvador Manzano
Topeca acquired this SHG farm in 2001. It is also home to our state of the art micro-mill, Cautro M Cafes, where we process all of our Seed-to-Cup coffees. About 90% of this farm is designated to bourbon trees, though in 2005 we have began planting well separated experimental lots of Pacamara, Yellow bourbon, and Kenyan SL-28. Coffees from this farm benefit from the higher altitude, which results in a sweeter, cleaner cup.
Producer: Emilio Lopez Diaz Region: Santa Ana Altitude: 1300-1550 MASL Varietal: Red Bourbon Farm: El Manzano Process: Mechanical Washed Roast: Medium light Notes: Almond, Honeysuckle, Pipe Tobacco SEED TO CUP, RAINFOREST ALLIANCE

Our darkest roast, this blend harmonizes caramelized roast flavors on top of the sweet, chocolaty character of our coffees from Finca Ayutepeque.

Topeca is one of the few companies in the world with fully vertically integrated Seed to Cup model. Our family grows the coffee in El Salvador where we can oversee every step of the process. We have our hands in every step of process from planting the coffee plant to hand picking the ripest cherries to roasting it here in Tulsa, Oklahoma and serving it in our own shops in Downtown Tulsa.

Coffee Wednesdays: Foolish Things
Foolish Things has become one of my favorite places in Tulsa for three main reasons.
Excellent coffee.
Friendly baristas.
Windows. LOTS of windows.
Favorite drink: Americano with vanilla and cinnamon. Although it's a fairly simple drink, it's super delicious.
Features:
A wall completely made of windows that provide a brilliant view of the city.
They serve Topeca coffee.
They have a unique set of house rules.
They have pretty awesome discounts.
The seating is comprised of large, wooden tables (to encourage you to make new friends, of course).
Friendly baristas.
Delicious food. (Check out a menu here).
Wifi
Extremely chill atmosphere.
If you have time this week, come check out Foolish Things! You won't regret it. 1001 South Main St. Tulsa, OK 74119
Last year at this time, I was in El Salvador at the Topeca Coffee farms @topecacoffee. Yesterday 12 postcards sent to press.. This is one - Sunrise over El Manzano.
