These ideas have led to the notion that there should be recognition of the nothing of many "genders". The many genders might include, in this understanding, a butch lesbian or a femme lesbian, a drag queen or a masculine gay SM top, as well as a feminine heterosexual woman or a masculine heterosexual man, plus other combinations. This approach to gender detaches it from its material base in the oppression of women. The problem becomes simple one of the scarcity of gender opportunities.
