i get what youre saying but i think the fact that he had his saber in his hand powered up goes beyond a fleeting thought tbh

ye, just i gotta go by what he said and he described it as ‘the thought passed like a fleeting shadow’, like he turned it on after searching bens mind etc and seeing all the destruction and death he would cause, and literally like one second passes before you see the ‘nope i can’t’ in his eyes, he just hadnt turned it off yet before kylo saw ~

maybe its subjective but knight kylo always seems at least symbolically subservient. hux as emperor controls the galaxy while kylo is just his lapdog. even the name, hound. an obedient pet. artwork has kylo kneeling at his feet etc and he's often sexually submissive. and yeah kylo helped him become emperor but hux is the one reaping all the rewards for kylo's work?? so he's like a servant or helper, not important on his own. i personally don't like what i see when i read between the lines

Ah i see, yeah I know what you mean and now that I think of it I know that trope is rlly popular in our fandom, but I guess when I think about that scenario I always think of Kylo’s subservience as…not something Hux put upon him, and probably something Hux doesn’t see that way? I like when Hux views his Knight as someone he’d kind of be dead and maybe even powerless without, and Kylo knows this, so his service is not just being a tool, but rather, being everything Hux is not. He nearly reveres Hux in some ways but Hux also feels the same way about Kylo even if they don’t discuss it or fully realize it other than subconsciously ~

i mean i'd be pretty disturbed if my uncle stood next to my bed with a loaded gun, even if he decided not to kill me. but it's subjective

even if he didnt' do anything to me, he' still standing over me ready to attack or kill me. that's still really fucked up. i assume there was a misunderstanding insofar as luke just got up cus he heard crazy shit coming from ben's brain and got scared. but idk if that was confirmed

oh yeah nah i’m not saying that kylo was wrong to perceive it that way bc how else would he see it, that right there is where luke was saying he was wrong to fail kylo like that, i’m just saying i keep seeing ppl straight up thinking Luke attempted to kill him, and he didn’t, because he wouldn’t, his character stopped him from being capable of that ~
