that one little cowlick on the front of Yang’s bangs. reblog if u agree

so, i was rewatching the Yellow Trailer and noticed a small detail about Yang’s hair that i had kinda forgotten about. specifically, Yang’s hair has a much lighter blonde tint near the bottom tips, and it got me to thinking...

at first i thought this was just aesthetic and maybe something they decided to forgo with later models in Maya. but then i remembered noticing in Yang’s v5 character short that the same lighter tips make a reappearance...

(which i realize could just look like the lighting in these shots, but if you watch the short it’s substantially lighter than the rest of her hair color throughout)

but then...as you actually get into v5, her hair doesn’t have those highlights that at all. 

which, i get, you could probably attribute this to lighting and stuff as well, but she doesn’t have the lighter blonde tips in any of the shots throughout both v5 and v6 (at least, so far).

so, why go through the trouble of adding that small detail in her model for the v5 character short but not in her later ones?

considering how often they’ve reiterated that Yang’s power is reflected in her hair and how important her hair is to her...on top of us not seeing her use her semblance or have her trademark glow since the Fall of Beacon...

i’m thinking this was deliberate in order to show how different Yang’s entire disposition and emotional state is since the Fall of Beacon. so, maybe once we get to Armed and Ready!Yang, we’ll get to see those lighter tips return

i don’t trust anyone who gets mad at Yang for how she’s been acting this volume

do you ever just....remember that Bumbleby is the main couple of the entire series. like a well-established, slowburn f/f couple is the main one of the Entire Series. they’re the ones that the show has been building up towards. they’re not a background ship that gets maybe a volume of development before becoming canon and nothing else. their respective character arcs were specifically made to intertwine with each other’s.
