Old Rusty by Dahai Z Via Flickr: Finally visited the old rusty Cadillac west of Rochelle Illinois on my way to see the bald eagles in Iowa. It has this special quality that draws you in. No one was there and it was just sitting there peacefully under the winter sun. I parked my car very carefully not to get too close to this iconic vehicle in the middle of nowhere. This was almost a pilgrimage and I wasn't disappointed. Even though it was a little rusty but she was totally together, ready for my admiration. It was a pleasant experience, that is, until I found out my old boots fell apart right at the spot. I found a Wal-Mart just before getting back on I-88 and got myself a pair of steel toes. The rest of the day was quite cool watching the bald eagles and photographers with 800mm tele's complaining about how boring it was to always get sharp pictures of the bird with their rapid firing 1Dx's.
