which is, 99.99% of the time, a bad thing. scarab could calculate more exact statistics if she asked, but she's pretty sure she's right. there's some kind of magic in the air, which makes it impossible for scarab to properly assess a threat, but what it runs numbers on instead is the spike in her anxiety. the thing prickling the back of her neck, putting her hackles up under the armor. reach armor.

but when no attack comes, she fights her instincts down. "well, don't let the claws fool you. i'm nice."

alice deactivates the armor down to the neck, exposing her face, and offers a rueful smile. "sorry, have we met?"

With Annie being as YOUNG as she was, and having the same POWERS as Peter ? The last thing she wanted to even THINK about was what could happen if Annie somehow got too ROUGH with her playmate. But with how SMOOTHLY everything had gone here, she hadn't had to entertain those fears even ONCE .

she reached down, intertwining their fingers together delicately. the butterflies in karolina's stomach were soaring and running into her rib cage right now. "i mean, it's only weird of you if you think it's weird of you."

she wanted nico to do it again, or maybe she just liked to be close to her. it was sweet to see nico's softer side, not that she didn't adore her rough edges and all. "does this feel weird to you?"

Peter scratches his neck before he shakes his head. There’s so much he’s not telling her, so much he’s not telling anyone. His life has always been COMPLICATED. People don’t need to know about all of it, especially not about his past mistakes. It’s his burden, and his burden alone. Of course, it changed him forever. It has also made him push the others away in some ways. He just can’t keep people close to him. There’s May, of course, but for her, it’s different. She was there before.

“What do you want to know ?” He asks with shrug. Peter doesn’t feel like arguing. On the other hand, he truly wonders what Kitty is thinking right now. It’s not like he’s purposedly hiding anything.
