A SHOCKING ENCOUNTER ⚡️🔋🦈! Divers exploring a local kelp forest happened upon this Pacific electric torpedo ray just last week!
With muscles stacked with electric potential, torpedo rays can deliver a battery-powered, paralyzing zap to their prey and causing would-be predators to bolt.
These Thor-like powers seem to give them a certain swagger: Instead of thundering along at lightning speed, torpedo rays go with the flow, almost static as they charge down coast, keeping the rest of us on pins and needles should we find them amid current events.
