You will probably pick up, when reading Torrellas's Slander and de Flores's Grisel y Mirabella, that explicit Renaissance misogyny is a pose, an argument made for the sake of making the argument. We can't be sure that Torrellas actually believes the things he says about women. If this is true, it is also true that Renaissance defenses of women, defenses that participate in what became known as the Querelle des Femmes, are in some sense poses as well--participation in debate that recognizes the strictures of the debate. In this sense, as with many other formalized Renaissance debates, participants will often take the most extreme position available, or use a "kitchen sink"" approach to argument, in order to support their point of view. (This is not to say that the poses did not have real world consequences.)
Keeping all of this in mind, then, briefly argue whether de Flores's
Grisel y Mirabella
is a feminist text. Whatever de Flores's intentions may have been, does
Grisel y Mirabella
promote women's equality against the patriarchal culture of Renaissance Europe?
