Left: Archangel Michael with the defeated Dragon 1906 by Torsten Wasastjerna
Description: Painting showing Michael standing with his sword in front of a dragon with many heads, which have been cut off, the heads wear crowns. Michael appears human with 6 wings. The dragon has dog like heads, with rainbow colored manes or feathers, bat like wings with eye pattern on it and paw like feet.
Propaganda: this image is just wow, if I hadn't seen it on the finnish national gallery website I would have though it would be some internet artist piece, the dragon looks like a devinart furry character and I say this with a lot of love, history is stranger than you often think, and less of a straight line

Right: An angel's revelation to the Shepherds 1899 by Albert Edelfelt
Description: painting of an angel floating over a group of sheepherds almost all of them kneeing down, the angel is semi transparent and seems to glow the white light a contrast to the brown, black and grey tones of the shepherds and surrounding landscape
Propaganda: Even through the angels are portrayed as very humanoid the use of light gives it such an otherworldy feel that I really dig.
