Nothing like a fresh restock to get one fully motivated. Thanks to #blickartmaterials for never running out of the good stuff 🤓 #coloredpencil #artsupplies #tortillons (at Blick Art Materials)
An old crab can still learn. Or I'd like to think so anyway. A young and very talented artist of whom you can find on #DeviantArt by the name of Carril Rego brought this little blending tool to my attention. I have always done it by hand but I love how much more detailed I can get with these. #BlendingStick #Tortillons These ones are made by: #DalerRowney thank you for sharing this blending tool with me #CarrilRego
Cerise research
Hello guys! I found a good link here to expain about blending stumps for traditional drawings. I didn’t know anything about them and until now in my graphic-drawings I use my finger to shade and all.
Blending stools: There are the blending stumps and the tortillons, the two are slightly different, the stumps with 2 pointed ends made of felt paper and the stumps, with only one pointed end and made of stiff paper. They are used to shade and create better effets in the drawing, they help create a more “unified” look in the drawing and blend the colors or better.
I don’t really know how to explain it but these are really helpful and seems better and more precise than when you’re using you finger to shade. Anyway in the links, it explain the use you can do of these and the effect they produce, it even explain how to do home-hand-made tortillons (witch I personally find howsome)!
Hope it will help! See you guys! ~cerise
