Advice?

East Coast followers...I have the opportunity to see one of three cities in a couple weeks. New York, D.C., or Toronto. Which one do I pick?? So many things I want to see in all of those places.

Hellooooo people of the internet! Back again to write more about the Niagara portion of our Canadian adventures during the short trip that we took for New Year's this year.

We started off the day with breakfast at Wafels and More in the Kensington market. This little waffle restaraunt is situated in what looks to be mexican restaraunt central in Toronto....but you know what they say...in a world full of tacos, don't be afraid to be a waffle...or something like that. Haha. Hahahaha. At least I have Jonathan to pretend to laugh at my jokes for the rest of his life, mwahahaha!

But anyways, if you're looking for waffles, in Toronto, Wafels and More is the place! Jonathan had a traditional belgium waffle with blueberries, and I had a "French waffle" with honey, almonds, and brie. Super yummy (my favorite will always be Brudges Waffles and Frites in Salt Lake City though!). Afterwards, we headeddown to Niagara Falls and went up into the Skylon tower to photograph the falls on the Canadian side. The views from the Skylon Tower are definitely worth the small ticket price to go up (see photo at the beginning of post). The timing worked out perfectly for our viewing of the falls on the Canadian side as well, because as we were heading out the sun was going down, and all the Christmas lights were coming on, and the lights behind the falls were starting to illuminate. 

Finally we went back across the border to check into our Microtel. Friendly, clean, and affordable as always - good quick stop for our last night of our mini vacation. Hungry and pretty much tired of walking outside in the bitter cold all day, we settled on good ol' Pizza Hut for dinner, because let me tell you - there is not much in Niagara NY. I didn't fully do my research, but all the happening stuff is on the Canadian side. No regrets though, because we got the full experience of the falls on the Canadian side, and I honestly did not want to freeze my buttcheeks off in Queen Victoria park waiting for it to be midnight already. After dinner, we drove to the American side and watched the brief 9 pm fireworks show over the falls. Then we went to Griffon Gastropub to ring in the new year properly - with heating and alcohol! We didn't have any food here beyond wings but the menu looked pretty impressive and the drinks were above average. There was a decently sized group gathered by midnight, and we rung in the new year with some free champagne (oh and just one more Moscow mule :p).
