With UP Psychology & UP Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas alumna Lulu Corpus, who co-organized the Search for The Outstanding Students of the Philippines during its revival in 1988-1989. The contest was co-sponsored by RFM Corporation and the Rotary Club of Makati Central (RCMC). While I made it to the finals, unfortunately, I did not emerge as a winner. After the contest, however, I did about 18 print, radio, and TV ads as a talent, one of which was even filmed in Japan, all thanks to my initial involvement with TOSP. But more than recollecting these, I was thrilled to see Lulu. I had not seen her for over 32 years. She organized TOSP 1989 so well I could not possibly forget her. In 1989, TOSP finalists, while billeted in hotels, had opportunities to speak and do volunteer work. As guests of the RCMC, we engaged with representatives from the country's business sector at the Skytop of Hotel Intercontinental Manila. We also met President Corazon Aquino in Malacañang, Jaime Cardinal Sin in Villa San Miguel, and Chief Justice Andres Narvasa at the Supreme Court.

Most significantly, the friendships forged with my TOSP batchmates have endured over the years. Unfortunately, my TOSP memorabilia collection, including a plaque, photographs, newspaper clippings, VHS tapes, letters, telegrams, and souvenir items, was gutted during the UP Faculty Center Fire of 2016. The opportunity to reconnect with Lulu after such a prolonged period helped alleviate the sense of loss. I eagerly anticipate the possibility of reuniting with Lulu and my TOSP batchmates in the future.
