Lady Harleen’s life was relatively easy for a duchess. She was allowed to do what she wanted, she had relative control over their estates due to her husband’s frequent absences. She had no doubt that he was dallying with other women, but they hadn’t gotten married for love after all. Women and the poets spoke of it, but Harleen didn’t know that she necessarily believed in that nonsense.
It is morning and she is having tea in the garden, on her favorite bench that nearly always has sunshine. She has a black and red dress on that has a diamond in the front of the skirt, her hair is not pinned, she doesn’t have any responsibilities and she does hate the way it makes her feel so.
