Today (March 15th, 2019) should have been Lydia’s 17th birthday . . Lydia Charity Schatz was 7 years old when she was abused to death by her adoptive parents: Kevin and Elizabeth Schatz. The couple adopted Lydia in 2007 from Liberia, they also had 6 biological children and 2 other adopted children. The Schatz’s adapted parenting techniques enlisted in the book “To train up a child” by Michael and Debbie Pearl which encourages cruel and extreme punishments for children for anything (at least 3 children have died due to the techniques described in this book). On February 5th, 2010, Kevin and Elizabeth whipped and beat Lydia for mispronouncing a word. Elizabeth held her down whilst Kevin struck the defenceless girl with a plastic tubing causing massive tissue damage. The next day, Lydia gained her angel wings. Her eleven year old sister was badly injured and was regularly beaten for being a bad influence of Lydia, she fortunately survived. Kevin and Elizabeth were arrested for the murder of Lydia and abusing her and their other children. Kevin was sentenced to 22 years in prison, Elizabeth was sentenced to 13 years in prison. The book that the parents used to abuse their daughter, is still on sale. Today, Lydia should be celebrating her 17th birthday, but instead she’ll forever be 7 years old.
