Final chair
So ends my quest to upgrade the seating in the fashion doll universe. While browsing the jewelry box section of the dd's on the far side of town, I discovered this insane chair. Unlike the camelback sofas and fainting couches I've acquired at dd's and Ross, this chair makes no gestures toward good taste. It's the kind of thing that furniture stores in Phoenix sold in the early 2010s.
It's so big that both Skipper and Lacey can share it. Only Lacey is sitting in it at the moment because while at the adjacent thrift store, I found a Totsy Lacey, hairless. Apparently someone planned a reroot and then gave up. I left it be: much as I I love my own Lacey, she's a prime example of a doll that's rare but not valuable.
Earlier in the day, I'd gone to Oakdale for a "warehouse estate sale," mostly because it was so unusual to have one on a Monday. This firmed up my resolve that there's no reason ever to go to one of the "leftovers in the warehouse" sales when I'm going to the actual sales every weekend.
