Remember, these methods serve to as much direct, personal benefit to addicts themselves as to those who insist on making physical contact with them.
Simply ask them to stop touching you. Say, “No means no,” or threaten litigation if they do not stop.
Say, “I’m touch averse,” whenever anyone attempts to touch you.
Feign discomfort by letting out frustrated groans.
Question whether you and someone else touching you know each other well enough to actually be touching in the manner they insist upon. This would be more difficult with family members, but with almost anyone else it will work to some degree.
Keep your hands at your sides to let them know you do not want them to physically touch you in whatever manner they insist upon.
Say, “We don’t touch each other often where I come from.” Use this method when the other person does not know or has little experience with your place or culture of origin.
