HI, I have some questions about your nail polishes as I'm trying to narrow down my list of, uh, 30 of that I want to a more reasonable number. You have a lot of polishes with microglitters; do you find they're a pain to remove? (I repaint my nails every week without fail so I try to avoid the big flakey kind, but I don't use a ton of microglitter so I don't know.) 2: We're in the same-ish geographical area; do you go to conventions? I want to drool over nail polish in person...

WELL HELLO THERE thank you for these fabulous questions and I will do my best to help you out, though I admit to a bias for basically every color I make and I am not really the best source to help you narrow down from 30 (go with samplers to start, samplers are the best).

1) I don’t find them a pain to remove in general but I also am forced by the gods of Ugh Migraines Why to use expensive non-acetone removers (which, funny story, is also the reason why I make nail polish). Organic mineral-based removers tend to require a little extra elbow grease anyway so I never notice a lot of trouble except with the really big glitters, like the stars and tinsels in Urdr. My personal preference is Tate’s Natural Miracle, which I pick up from Amazon.

2) I do indeed go to conventions! I opened this month at Magic City Con in Birmingham, and in October I will be nail-bitingly shipping a flat of glittery goodies to Seattle for GeekGirlCon, one of my very favorite places in the world. I have also been known to meet people for coffee and exchange shipping for conversation!

3) For a small hobby shop like mine, nail polish is made by combining 5-free lacquer base and various pigments into an empty polish bottle with the assistance of the world’s tiniest immersion blender. It’s basically really, really sparkly Mad Science.

All the comments were those hippy ladies who were all natural and didn’t want anything in their bodies that shouldn’t be there, like jfc yeah track your cycle but don’t ONLY use that method and then get shocked if you get pregnant.

tbh this would be where i draw the line as well, as by its own definition people who were newborns and babies shouldn’t count, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it’s all a social construct anyway, just annoying to see it misused because like... it was coined for a reason, and now it basically has no meaning besides “dern kids on my lawn,” and we already have a term for that (“dern kids on my lawn”).
