One Last Wish - B.L. Wilde
In a world where I've worked hard to be invisible, something is stalking me. Shadows are lurking in the strangest of places, and peculiar things are beginning to happen that I can't explain.
If that isn't enough, an attractive guy called Darce, has started working with me at the bookshop, Bookends. I swear he's been sent to test my last nerve, but I can't deny the sexual tension between us. The more time we spend together, the more I feel oddly connected to him. Why does it feel like I have known him my whole life, and why won't he let me touch him?
This can only end badly. What if I lose my mind, or something even worse, my heart?
MY REVIEW
Ok so this book to me started off really slow and the FMC Alora was irritating and bitchy. She could be so hard headed. She was down right mean to those whom only tried to show her love and care for her. As the story went on the plot thickened and became more interesting and some of her bitchiness became understandable in a way. Didn't make me like her too much more, even though at times she was kind in the only way she knew how.
I continued on with the book because of the plot becoming more intriguing and interesting. The side characters carried the book throughout. Darce was hot and very mysterious which made the book all that more alluring. Her roommate was a tough as nails woman with a need to mother over Alora, which was enduring and sweet. Together these two characters supported our FMC in many ways and made the book that much more interesting.
This book had a unique storyline and interesting characters. It was mysterious and sinful, with a dash of danger added in to make it interesting. And least us not forget the forbidden love thrown in to give it a Romeo and Juliet vibe. The story starts out irritating and a tad bit slow, but it picks up in the end making it worth the read. I feel the next book in the series will start out to be even better as the story has developed more in this one.
