I truly love that Branca's storyline in Touching Evil is "weirded out and alone" to happy with her weird friends who let her be herself

I think one of the big reasons Touching Evil (US) works so well is that Creegan is Jewish, or at least closer to that culture than Christian culture. It gets to be about death and what that means without involving the guilt/shame/fear of Christian beliefs about the afterlife.
