Hp Touchpad on Sale Again

Touchpad pimpin'.

I am tough on technology.  It is most likely the reason that I consign my portable computing needs to a cheap netbook instead of a fancy new Intel i5 (or i7 /drool) laptop.  It is also the reason I knew, as soon as I put it in my grubby little hands, that I would need a case for my Touchpad--whose name, after much deliberation, is Humberto.  I know you were curious.

So I set out on a quest.  As you might know, I work for the Geek Squad at Best Buy.  This job is badass.  One perk is the ability to check other stores for Touchpad accessories when yours is sold out.  BUT ALAS. There are no cases left in the county!  And the only screen shields are 20 minutes away!

I continued my adventure to the mystical Best Buy in the South, where they very graciously let me try a few cases on my naked Touchpad.  It was touch (haha) and go for a few minutes there, but we finally found a fit: the Targus Truss iPad case.  A quick flick of a box cutter (the good Geek travels prepared for technical modifications) so it didn't press on the volume button and, voila, I had a perfect case in hand! 

It's my understanding that Targus has recently released a Touchpad-friendly version, but I have not found it in stores and I use my Touchpad primarily for studying.  Not being able to take it places and being too cheap to pay for next day shipping, I really needed something in-store.

So, my quest successful, I trekked back home to install my Zagg InvisibleSHIELD.  I install ZAGG InvisibleSHIELDs all day at work on a bunch of different devices and I'll throw you a warning on this one--these covers aren't the nice, rubbery iPad 2 covers (WHY NO LOVE, ZAGG?).  These ones are a pain to install, even though they dry looking lovely.  You have been warned.

I'll be making a post later in the week about how a tablet can help you study.  I've already pointed out that tablets aren't always the right choice for your school needs, but there are a lot of ways you can take your tablet from portable YouTube/movie viewer to something your parents won't hate on you for buying.  C'mon, it's for education!
