Innovative Finger Lakes Races Feature Local Landscape
This season is full of races that demonstrate the region’s enthusiasm for fitness and for our exceptional natural features. The events also showcase organizers’ creativity and passion.
Saturday April 20 is the first offering of the Tough Turtle, an obstacle race which benefits the Ithaca Children’s Garden. It takes place on the Cayuga Waterfront Trail and in other spaces bordering Cayuga Lake.http://www.toughturtleithaca.com/
Sunday April 21 will be the third running of the Seneca 7, a relay race in which teams of seven run all the way around the longest of the Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake, beginning and ending in Geneva, NY. http://www.seneca7.com/
Together the races will include just over 2,000 people, many of whom have traveled to participate. I am so thankful to all the race organizers, volunteers and participants for expanding these types of events in the Finger Lakes. Have a wonderful weekend!
