Alan Turing, whom many have become more than familiar with after Hollywood adapted his biography into the award winning film The Imitation Game, developed the Turing test in 1950 to test a machine’s intelligence in comparison to that of humans. Anyone who has any interest in artificial intelligence is well familiar with the term. Touring Test, which seems to be a clever play in words on that construction, is a stunning introduction to a new pioneer in the hip hop scene named David Wolves. It only took me a few seconds in on my first listen this morning to know we’ve struck gold with this already buzzing track. Wolves, who hails from Orlando, Florida, has forged a debut album named Viole(n)t that’s sure to shake up the scene. Touring Test is its first single, a gritty gripping, dark thrilling anthem mixed by GOOD Music engineer Anthony Kilhoffer. Kanye’S influence on the track is undeniable, but there’ are also hints of Cautious Clay to be found in Wolves’ singing and an entangling, aggressive restlessness reminiscent of Travis Scott. Stream/download the striking song, here. Watch out world, here comes David Wolves.
