There are only 28 more teaching days. I count today because I still have to get through it. I can’t believe this journey is soon coming to an end. I am very excited about getting to spend the summer back in the States with my family, friends, and Bae. However, there is a lot unknown still. I don’t have a job for next school year yet. I don’t know where in Houston I’ll be moving to. I don’t know when I’ll be able to move. I don’t know really anything about my life past July 3rd. 

Here’s what I do know--Last day of school is June 21st. Flight to London on July 1st. Beyonce on July 2nd. Flight to DC on July 3rd.

I accepted my job offer and began the journey to move to Abu Dhabi. So many ups and downs, but this week I’ve spent some time home and at my former school and I know I made the best decision for me. Life has been crazy, but I’ve been able to see, do, eat, and live in a way that would have been impossible had I not taken this leap of faith. The distance and time difference have been extremely hard for me and ultimately led me to decide to come back to the States in June, but I love the opportunities I’ve had because I did choose to come to Abu Dhabi. I’m looking forward to making my last months the best in my life.

Abu Dhabi!

Things have been going well. I got here late Sunday night and had the first day of new teacher training on Monday. Day 2 has been good. We just got our iPads and Macbooks. I can only get on Tumblr when I have WiFi, which I'll have in my apartment very soon. Miss y'all Tumblr

That’s all. Time sure did fly, huh? I think the first count down I did was 176 days. (Edit---it was a 140 days)

I’m headed to New Orleans/Baton Rouge on Friday and I’m looking forward to having a great time. My sister is closing on a house, so I’m going shopping with her to decorate. My close friend from my former school is having a baby and I’m one of the hostesses for the baby shower (the morning I leave). Busy!

These last 10 days are going to be pretty emotional I think. I had my Going Away Brunch this weekend, so my family from Pittsburgh came down. My grandparents had to leave right from the brunch, so I had to say my goodbyes there. As soon as my grandfather hugged me the tears came flowing. (Thank God for a good makeup artist. Lol) I think it’s going to be the hardest to say bye to my mom. I just keep thinking about how it was when I went to Howard and that was just a 3.5 hour drive. This is a 12-14 hour flight with a 9 hour time difference. Pray for us y'al.
