Shanae and I slept in and headed to Starbucks.
Because every trip has to start with coffee, regardless of the location--it is necessary!
We drove our own cars because after our long-awaited day in San Francisco I was going to head east and she was going to go back home.
Mapquest said it'd be about 45 minutes. But ended up being closer to 2 hours because of heavy traffic from events happening all throughout downtown SF.
Shanae made sure to document our waiting in traffic.
We finally arrived, parked, checked in with our tour company (Tower Tours--our guide was SO GOOD at his job. Seriously, that little Italian man was FUNNY) that we had booked with, walked around in the Ghiradelli Square and went to a WONDERFUL diner for lunch. Lori's Diner.
And then our tour began.
Insert MANY pictures HERE!
I am this colorful in real life.
Because we have never seen anyone else attempt this before.
A jumping picture was necessary.
I feel like I have just been photobombed by a sign.
Picture from atop Twin Peaks.
Shanae, the dancer.
The closest we got to Alcatraz.
We will be going again, JUST for that gosh darned island!
For all my Doctor Who friends.
We finished our tour and went for a walk in the Fisherman's Wharf, up and down Pier 33 and then onward to a FANTASTIC dinner at Cioppino's On the Wharf. Shanae went to the bathroom and I took the liberty of ordering our drinks and TWO appetizers. Because of reasons.
I regret nothing.
We filled out the customer comment card because the service was FAR ABOVE anything that we had ever had before. I would consider driving all the way up there just for dinner. It was that good.
And then we walked across the street, ready to explode from all the delicious food...and got Coldstone ice cream.
We said our goodbye s and headed in our own directions.
and then we somehow ended up right next to each other at a red light.
I didn't complain.
And then I realized that my directions were to take me across the Bay Bridge.
I got really excited but then it went away when there were 5 lanes on that thing and people were driving WAY too fast. I was terrified. It was dark and I couldn't see where the sky ended and the water began, maybe that had a lot to do with it.
Made it to my friend Emily (Shanae's roommate from freshman year)'s parents house by 9pm and we talked for HOURS.
And then poor little tuckered out Shawna fell asleep in the middle of many different text message conversations.
Whoopsy. Sorry friends!
