Receipt, dated June 3, 1992, from a purchase by Tower Books in New York City of fifteen copies of issue #1 of my fanzine, Nonstop Diatribe.
While I was excited to sell copies of my zine to In Your Ear and Newbury Comics, this sale to Tower Books felt like a big milestone. First, the fifteen copies they accepted was my second-largest sale, after the 20 or so I sold to famed NYC zine store See/Hear (RIP). Second, my zine was going to available at a worldwide mega-chain! And sister brand Tower Records was the very cool alternative to the deadness of the mall-dwelling Sam Goodys and Musiclands dotted across the USA.
Alas, Tower itself eventually ended up in the same record store chain graveyard as those others (and many more), as memorably covered in the 2015 Tower Records documentary All Things Must Pass.
