Animal Crossing Frustration

This game is by far the most frustrating game I’ve ever played. 

It reminds me just how much I suck at “sandbox” and “creation” games. Looking at the animal crossing tags on tumblr, pinterest and wherever else always makes me low key hate this game. Some people have awesome looking towns, and I look at them in the Dream Suite, and I’m like DAMN how do I do that? And the answer? There are two:

Hacking

and talent (at least in my opinion).

Now, I would use the hacking thing, except I’m weary of hacking apps and I would probably hate New Leaf the rest of my life if I ended up accidentally corrupting my data. 

So that leaves talent (and a hell of a lot of time consumption).

I really only have talent for one thing in this game and that’s home designing. My home is coming along pretty great (when I have a lot of bells). But as for my town, it’s boring as hell. 

And then I visit a dream about a town like Pomme (I think that’s the name) And it looks INCREDIBLE. And again I start thinking: how long will it take before I can do something like this too? And why can’t I ever create anything this cool in a creation game?

Even the famous Aika Village. Creepy? VERY. (I saw the Aika doll for the first time yesterday and I nearly had a panic attack.) But its creepy because it’s INSANELY WELL DONE. I could never do something like that. Let alone think it up. 

Although then again my problem isn’t that I lack ideas. It’s that I lack the talent to carry them out. That and there’s just SO MUCH TO DO in Animal Crossing New Leaf that the first reaction to the game for me is usually “Okay, now what?”

I’m seriously wondering if it’s just me and I totally suck at Animal Crossing, if I’m just too impatient for a game like this, or if anyone else has these thoughts playing the game?
