Giveaway Town Rules
The giveaway town will be opening this evening; a sign up form will be posted shortly after this post. Before I allowed sign ups however I wanted to go over a few rules I'd like everyone to abide by while in the town.
Because the town is meant to be open 24/7, it will be impossible for me to monitor the behavior of visitors in the town at all times. I'm therefore requesting a sort of 'neighborhood watch' from my guests. If you see any sort of destructive behavior or if someone is clearly taking items they are not supposed to or in amounts greater than I've outlined, I encourage you to flip your WiFi switch to prevent the damage.
Furthermore please make note of their character name and town information and relay the information to me via ask. If I receive multiple reports of inappropriate behavior from more than one source the culprit will be permanently banned.
Additionally, if I see you doing something you shouldn't be, I will verbally warn you once. If I see it again you will be permanently banned.
This town is the result of the cumulative effort of dozens of people and so I'd like to do all I can to maintain it. I hope you can understand my reasoning for being so harsh...
With all that said, onto the actual rules:
Only take items you are allowed to take. There are patterns on the ground in the various areas telling you what you can and cannot take. Additionally, I have posted a town map along with a detailed breakdown of the areas around town here which will let you know what groups of items are free and which are not.
Only take one full inventory worth of items (aka 16). You're welcome to exchange (one for one) as many items in the gyroid, fossil, balloon, fortune cookie, and free for all areas, but only take a net total of 16 items from the town. You are welcome to drop as many items in town (in the appropriate areas) as you like.
Do not trample flowers or cut trees. You may pick weeds or dig up fossils/gyroids, however.
Only take up to 3 of any one fruit from the town. You may find fruit in baskets of 9, if you do, take three fruit from the basket and drop the remaining fruit. You may take multiple types of fruit, but only three of any one kind. (A basket of fruit only counts as one item of the 16 total you may take with you.)
Be respectful of any other players in town. If I hear that you are verbally harassing any players that is also grounds for banning.
The 16 item limit is per registration period. As of right now you will only be registered in the town for 72hrs. This number may change depending on the demand to enter the town. The only way to pick up an additional 16 items is to register again after your initial 72hrs are up.
P.S. I will post these rules on a new page of the blog either tonight or tomorrow. Any changes to these rules will be announced in a blog post.
Town Visitation Guidelines
I was writing these up for myself, but I thought I'd post it here to share with everyone and possibly collect more rules if needed! If you like it, feel free to use them as a base and post them up on a page yourself!
Do not run on grass! Pathways, cobble, and sand are ok!
(Dirt counts as grass in most cases.)
Do not skip between buildings if the grass seems thin! It needs time to grow and it grows better when untouched. Be courteous and take the path!
If I have a fruit that you don't, please ask before shaking the tree! Perfect trees are there for decoration, however, so do NOT shake them!
Do NOT take or kill flowers! Any flowers, hybrid or otherwise!
If you ask nicely, I may let you have some.
Do not pick up any items you find on the ground! Most are there for decoration.
If you ask nicely, I may let you have them.
Buy anything from the shops if you want!
If you see a dig star, feel free to dig it up. I am lazy and care very little about them. The same applies to shell collecting.
(plus if I thought it was anything good, I would've dug it up already)
Rules for Visitors
Hey there, rogues and rapscallions! There's a few guidelines I'd like you to follow while visiting Corsair, please and thanks. It's all common sense and common courtesy, really. This town is both my home and an ongoing project so please treat it with respect and we'll all have a great time! ♥
No running on the grass. Running on paths is allowed
No littering. Use the garbage can
Don't steal fruit or flowers
Don't destroy trees, bushes, flowers or patterns
Don't dig up random holes or cracks in the ground
Don't plant pitfalls
Don't shake trees
Feel free to ...
Talk to villagers ((please be nice))
Buy items from shops ((please let me know))
Donate to public works projects ((please don't complete them))
Catch fish and bugs ((please, uh ... have fun!))
Post on the message board ((please be civil))
Thank you! ♥
Rules for visiting my town in Animal Crossing
No running please (Unless it's on stone or Main Street or the beach). It messes up the flowers and the grass and no.
You're welcome to take fruit, but save some for others.
I swear to God if you mess with my flowers or trees I will hunt you down and snap your DS in half.
Don't be rude to others.
You're welcome to visit/use shops.
Catch whatever you want.
Have fun!
New Rules Concerning Towns
Over the last few days the staff as a whole have been voting on a new set of rules concerning towns. As everyone is aware town creation became crazy before the Wilderness was closed off, so a new set of rules were needed.
These rules now cover a lot more than just town creation, and all towns, staff and player owned alike, (some minor exceptions, and obviously staff towns are not subject to some of the rules) are expected to comply within the next few days.
Staff members will be monitoring this over the next few days, with punishments for towns who fail to get up to date as soon as possible, so it's in your best interest to read the rules if you're a town owner or an aspiring town owner.
I'm not going to post them here as they are long, but clear and to the point.
Read them on the forums here

Town Rules
Stick to the paths unless you have to go off for some reason!
Unless you have to, please don't run.
Please ask before you grab anything (on the ground, buried, growing on a tree, etc.)
Thanks and enjoy!
