2005 G3 Styling Pony Pinkie Pie prototype from TaoBao.
NEW 2023 Furby prototype
hello furby friends, so perhaps the Biggest break in furby in almost that past 7 years which is WILD to think about, but a prototype for a new line of furbys leaked this morning on ebay at around 8am cst.
AGAIN this is wild, but is shows renwed interest from hasbro in the furby line. but first a general description,
So, bellow are the photos.
The furby is an early run electroics prototype, these are can be very close to the final design, with the cosmetic proto being handed over for electronic prototyping. the wires (as far as I can read) are as follows
Motor Ir encoder Microphone Left ear led Right ear led Back cap Front cap Sw & led Spear Mouth sw (switch) Neutral
So it apears they are going somewhat functionally similar to a 1998. this is also shown in the fact that they are using the og 1998 logo on the bottom.
The board also reads 5-5-2022, so it is for sure recent.
further into the cosmetics, it apears to be simialr to their fuzzalots brand.
So it seems thats the direction that they are going in. which to me is... disapointing
SO what adds to this story is the fact that Hasbro was alerted shortly after to the listing and were VERY interested. showing the first public interest directly in the furby brand in years.
the ebay listing was the struck down less than an hour later
it was orginaly on auction for $50 then relisted,
so overall. today has been a very interesting look into Hasbro playing around with a more modern furby... just observing the similarites to fuzzalots if this furby is released, it will retial for around 10-15$ which i think is a good price point, however I think that fans would prefer a more direct homage to 1998s, for those of you in the same boat as me, I think that the best we can hope for is hasbro having gone in a diffrenet direction, And with hasbro pushing their toy appearnce back, I suspect we will see an annoucment in mid september which would be just in time for the 25th aniversery. I will try my best to attend the toyfair in person or online and I will keep you guys updated.
special thanks to Furbccord for being a great place to bounce ideas around! and special thanks to FranistheMan and fubby on discord
and with that, peace and love furby community

Also, if you use these on any projects, I would love a shoutout, and I can add you to the list of people who have made 3D replicas with them: Check out @aelith-earfalas and @demonesskneesocks versions of Trashion Alley!!
The next few posts are going to be from a visit to a vintage toy store near Cincinnati Ohio. So technically not thrift - at all - BUT an amazing store!!! with some cool things to see!
LOVE ME some Disneys Gargoyles! This is a prototype for an armored Goliath! COOL!
I’m going to make this a post on IG tomorrow, so I’ll queue it tonight so you guys get it first! Heyoo!! Anyway, I wanted to get a photo with Izzy and Sunny’s backcards, since the prototype on the packaging is often different than the final toy we see.
Interestingly enough, Sunny’s eyes got moved further apart, making her look more equine and thus less uncanny valley; but Izzy’s eyes got moved closer together! I think I prefer Izzy’s prototype to her finished one, but I prefer the finished Sunny to the prototype! I like my ponies to look like ponies, and sometimes the G5 eyes are a liiiiiiiiiiiittle close for my liking. (Yet the plush have the eyes on either side of their heads, go figure!!)
“The new basic priced figures were done in a bit of a rush. We needed them refreshed but season 2 had not yet started so we just had to think of those costumes as “a different gown in their current closet.” Also at that price point, it was hard to deviate much as they had to stay very simple. They were fun, but the real creativity was unleashed in the deluxe doll s were there was room to play.” JRA: Shown below are Preproduction samples for the Magic Armor dolls, the new basic line. Painted prototypes of these figures were shown in the Kenner Catalog (see catalog page image). This is a production pilot model. It was shot in all the right colors. It is painted. This product never shipped. Note: that some of the armor looks clear because it is color change plastic. GA: For the first year, we spent considerable time building the visual foundation of the characters, the world and line of product. Even though some things were different between the animation and the figures (like the visors on the helmets), it all had to tell a cohesive story. The hunt for the jewels from Merlin’s chest was the story arc for that first year and each story had to further the quest in some way.
