An Introduction
I have rewritten this introduction three times already and I have come to accept that I will just never like the outcome, so I will just go straight to the point.
I'm not well.
Over the years I have mistreated my body and I am now paying for it. I feel old in a way that goes beyond my years, and I think I am very much having a glimpse of what my near future will look like unless I do some drastic changes.
I keep putting it off, I keep finding excuses, reasons to prioritize other things. I have now achieved these things and have no more excuses to keep ignoring my health.
There are some serious struggles related to this, it's not a lack of discipline, or desire, or money. I have all those things, just not for myself.
The point of this blog is to force me, for one year, to focus on my health, and set priorities based on what would be best for my wellbeing, physical and mental.
You Me At Six - Take Off Your Colours 10 year Anniversary tour. 02.12.18
I had fun yesterday. It was so nice hearing all the old songs. They played the entire album in full plus a few new songs. Total 20 songs!
If you've seen my previous pist from 30.11.18 you'll now about scarf girl who waved it the ENTIRE gig and knocked my glasses off my face. See previous gig post. Still makes me angry. Anyways, I entered the venue and ended up behind her again. She saw me and commented on the fact all 4 people who are strangers (including me) were in the same positions. I fake laughed and then moved away. I was next to her and not behind her. I told her off over the glasses incident last time. So lucky they weren't smashed but she seemed selfish and oblivious. She tried talking to me after the supporting bands. I spoke to her for 2 minutes about the support acts and if I was coming again on Monday. I didn't want to be friend's with her. I was still too pissed at her and didnt want to be fake. So after 2 minutes I just stopped talking and turned my head away hahahaha. Brutal. She had a really thick accent so I doubt she was from here. She had no gig etiquette. She probably flew in for the 2 London gigs. See my previous post to understand fully what happened at the last gig.
She started waving the svarf again not as violently but I was worried she would hit my face again like last time. It came near my face so i like tapped/pushed her shoulder but she ignored me. Her mate saw me holding me glasses. So hopefully she tells her mate not to do the scarf thing. Luckily she only did it for 4 songs maybs. On Friday it was the whole concert. At first she was doing it so hard it was hurting as it hit me in face and then when my glasses flew off I had a right go at her. It's making me mad to think about it again. It was absolutely pointless waving it the whole gig. It was blocking a lot of people's view and the giels next to me called her a bitch? Next time I am moving to the other side of the venue if I see her. Even if its further back from the stage.
So anyways. There was also 2 idiots fist fighting and Josh (lead singer) refused to sing till they stopped and did a speech about love and not having to resort to violence. The crowd booed the idiots fighting lol. At first they ignored him and he said oi you wearing the X. They still ignored him so he said i'm not singing. Eventually they were escorted out and we carried out. :)
There was also a marriage proposal but it was SO AWKAWARD. AWKWARD AF. The girl came up first and then they trked to get the boyfriend up but he refused. 5 minutes later he was on the stage. We still had no idea what was going on or who proposed as no one got down one knee. Josh was standing nearby wondering what the fuck was going on. Then he asked what the answer was and they said "yeah". Lmfao soooo awkward.
And when Josh got off the stage to hug someone in the crowd, I touched his right arm with my left hand haha. I didn't get a photo of him closeup as everyone was pushing to get closer to him.
I love this band. Josh was saying how this gig was for us fans. Like they are happy with their new music and hkw far they've come but. The fans have always wanted to hear old songs and they only ever play a few from first album. They did this anniversary tour for us. 🖤 They played the song we all know they hate (Gossip) and it's so awful that it makes it good and us fans just love it 😂 You can tell it was written when they were 15/16. Its quote self absorbed and being at a party and trying to get a gidl.
Josh was saying how we are their past and without us they wouldn't have got to where they are today. I think a lot of their fans came out of their coffins for this tour. A lot of fans don't like the new music so wanted to hear old stuff. I actually love their newer stuff more. It's heavier and the lyrics are a hella lot better.
Can we just appreciate these two pictures I got on Friday and Sunday. I wish I was at Brixton again tonight for show 3 of 3 in London. But the two I did go to were amazing!! #youmeatsix #toyc #o2academybrixton (at O2 Academy Brixton) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq79szfHARd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=yoqg0ujgjzva
