Non Toyoguchi
Keijo!!!!!!!!
I was on a manga spree and stumbled upon this series (This is just a lil excuse to draw something)
Guys, I have a confession to make. I've fallen in love....with Cross Manage.
It seems like a typical sports manga, but unlike most shonen series I've come across, it focuses on this all girl team. The protagonist is of course a male as most shonen are but it's interesting in that he used to be an athlete until he suffered from an injury that prevents him from playing sports anymore. He's now left trying to cope and figure out where he now fits in without his former sport.
As someone who has suffered from a long term injury that interfered with my daily life for about 2 years and had to sit on the side lines for gym this really kind of struck home for me. Sometimes it's difficult coping with an injury even when it hasn't taken away something you've really loved doing.
Also Misora Toyoguchi is an absolutely charming character. Her enthusiasm just grabs you even if you don't like lacrosse. In a way everyone can relate to her in someway or another. She's very much a shonen character. I'd even probably call her the deuteragonist of the series.
Anyway I'm probably going to be posting about it every so often. Really looking foward to how things turn out in this series.
(And for a bonus the girls are actually drawn differently for once. It's not just like two faces and 6 different hair styles! HOORAY!!!)
