Cedar Waxwing munching away on some red Toyon Berries! Photographed yesterday, January 9, 2021 in Orange County, CA with @aylas_nature_photography, @blingrunner64, and @la.explora.dora. Thankfully I was fortunate to have seen and photographed the beautiful Cedar Waxwing winter migrant birds several times ever since my first Bird Lifer sighting and photo shoot of them in December 2020. Cedar Waxwings got their name because of the colors of their wing tips. They like eating berries, cedar cones, and insects. It was fun watching a flock of them attack the Toyon Berries together. They attack the berry bushes as a flock mob, then all fly off together around the same time. Toyon Berries are also known as California Holly or Christmas Berries.
