The last of my pony cleaning pictures. I did this all at my grandma’s, in between caregiving for her, it was really relaxing and fun to look back at my childhood toys and pass some on people who would appreciate them more. The top pictures are my last ponies to get scrubbed and washed. I only kept a few of these guys: my unicorns, khan, and baby pegasus.

The unicorns were the most dirty of the bunch, a magic eraser really helped, as I played with these guys the most (with my MLP). They were the three cool kids with nasty tempers (that’s how the purple on lost his horn). The last five pictures are of the small Barbie horses that I used to collect (I did lose the unicorn one on the bus to school though). I sold all of these guys too.

Another Monday Cleaning Post. This week are some of my horses from when I was in grade school. They all were gently scrubbed with oxyclean/dawn dish soap and a toothbrush, then cleaned with a Magic eraser, and nailpolish remover (where applicable). I also cleaned their hair with dawn dish soap, conditioned it and either curled or straitened it. It’s not perfect, but they’re cleaner than they were before and are now being stored in a safe plastic box (instead of cardboard) with lots of silica packets and wrapped in tissue paper. And of course I forgot to take before pictures.

The top two had a lot of paint scratches on them, and lots of messy little braids and ribbons in their tails (a common theme with all my childhood horses). I left the horse on the right‘s tail kinky, but straightened the others. The next two were also off brand horses, they were also not my favorite, so they did not get played with all that often (they are both being resold). The next two are felted and the one on the left is one of my oldest horses that I owned. He was so filthy that you couldn’t see the white on his legs and his sparse tail was a big knot. Both his eyes are still missing, but he’ll be okay. His son is also much cleaner than before and his tail has also been combed out.

The next two ladies are a Barbie Walking Sweety Pony (technically my sister’s, and she was always the gossip of the pony group) and a Grand Champion Slipstream (Mommy Horse). Sweety Pony can still kiss and has her tail detangled. Mommy Horse is still looking a bit haggard but that‘s as close as I could get to her scalp with a straight iron and even using boiling water. Oh well, she looks like motherhood is getting to her. Her foal was also cleaned but has a lot more paint worn off of his face (clearly he was a favorite of mini-me).

The last one is a Barbie Walking Beauty Horse and was the “leader of all of my horses“ due to her immense size. She also starred in several cross-overs as she not only came out to play when I played with ponies, but also when we played with Barbies. She has a lot of paint wear, but otherwise not in horrible condition and could still make noises.
