A string of exquisite sensation pulls taunt inside his whole body and her hands are gripping hard at his back, bunching the material of his shirt at the base of his spine and he feels the scratch of her nails.
Travis speaks her name and it comes out unrecognizable to his own ears. His voice is so…deep. Throaty and husky and full of adoration and then she’s really kissing him back. It’s as if she wants to stop any sound he could possibly make, as if she wants to draw the very air from his lungs and he’ll let her.
Right then and there, Travis realizes he will give Laura absolutely anything and everything she asks for. She could ask for his bleeding heart and he’d tear it out from his chest, no questions asked, because she kissed him first and because she cares about him and because she defends him and wants a better life for him and Travis has never, ever had that before.
