Megatron [Beast Wars]

@toyrylaartblog Happy Birthday~  This is by far the largest piece I’ve done in a while, and it took 4 days to complete, with sketching, lining, shadows, colours and effects. Worth it, but I don’t think I’ll do something this complex in a while! Nice challenge though, I had fun working on the lights and shadows of the dinosaur head.

Note; I’m not familiar with transformers, and used the Megatron Prime 1 studio statue as a reference. Although the pictures weren’t quite accurate enough for my liking, I somehow pulled through. 

I was tempted to make the dinosaur slightly feathered and patterned to add a layer of badass, but thought that you’d probably prefer it without. And the purple made it difficult to achieve either of those to begin with.

Fursona doodles #1

I felt like I wanted to to develop a good working method for Paint Tool SAI, and it was a good opportunity to practice a little. I think I’m getting the hang of this, but I’m not used to the way lighting works in SAI. 1st  = Ember (Spyro, Hero’s Tail)  2nd = Nurri, a Kitsune npc of @pastel-pasty in a D&D campaign  She always struck me more like a fennec fox than a traditional red one, hence the lighter colours. 3rd = a ferret fursona I designed for a friend. 4th = my own cat fursona in my new see-through summer dress.

So @arte-hideous​ introduced me to the wonderful new series on Netflix, Buddy Thunderstruck! Needless to say, I was rather inspired by these cute and quirky dorks. If you’re wondering why I made a crossover like this, you can thank him for it too. His horse jumped off a cliff and I retorted “the sheriff had enough of your thunderstruck” in response. The idea was too good to pass so have some fan art! Tried a limited 6-colour palette and wow I really love how it turned out~

Furudo Erika, yarr!

I was asked to draw a character I hate. So here you have it.

She is well written, as are all other characters in Umineko, but she is inexcusable. I even forgave Eva (ahh the voice acting of a convincing bitch) and Bern for everything! But her? No redemption. I also have a great disliking for Natsuhi as a personality, but hey I’ve been drawing way too much of her in the past year for a secret project so no thank you, but Erika? Erika I hate. I hate her personality with the strength of a thousand suns. A good antagonist though.

Unfortunately I think my hatred would only rile her up, but thankfully I can say I solved the mystery before her SO HAH, SUCK IT ERIKA! I AM THE TRUE WITCH >:3c

15: What book changed your life?

The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Not because I particularly like it or anything (some of those architecture chapters... woof.), but because it was the first book I read voluntarily after a long drought, and it's thanks to it that I got really into reading again.

29: How do you sort your shelves? (i.e. by color, author, title etc.)

Theoretically, by author. In practice, they're rapidly turning into the Great Book Labyrinth of Yenk'thar.

40: Name one of your favorite books from your teenage years

Oh look, a question I can still answer with Good Omens. :D

43: Are you the kind of person who reads several books at once or the kind of person who can only read one book at a time?

Heh, only yesterday my sister asked why I had so many books on my currently reading-list. I tend to have one "main" book I read and several others on the backburner at any given time.
