Piercing (Modification)
Adds the properties of piercing damage to an already damaging Technique.
Modification
Prerequisites: [Technique with Damage Output]
Damage induced by a Technique modified by this feature gains the advantages of Piercing Damage. True to its name, the attack is capable of going through its primary target. When it comes to melee attacks, this means that Piercing attacks directed at two or more targets that are in close proximity of each other (those sharing the same space in the case of grid-based combat) are all threatened by it (with potentially even more targets if the attack has an increased Reach), while ranged attacks will go through any amount of targets in its path. Critical attacks of this kind tend to cause severe blood loss (see Dizzy), left up to the GM’s discretion.
Attacks that have a designated target, such as Homing Attacks, will pierce through any subjects in their way to the target, but once they have struck the primary target, their homing properties subside (i.e., they do not continue following the target, piercing them them multiple times, etc.)
Acquiring more than one of the Slashing, Bludgeoning, and Piercing mods grants the user a variant version of the Technique for each one.
