The Prodigal “Lover” Returns

It was a typical Sunday morning in Bon Temps….aka lazy if you didn’t go to church like half the town to save your already damned soul. Everything was quiet and bright, sunlight coming through the windows of the big southern plantation house.
It was Cassy who heard the resounding knock to the door, Piper in her kitchen making them a large breakfast with a sober look on her face. It was one she wore a lot now, even when she was cooking, so unlike what it had been a year and a half ago when they would be getting ready to go out for their shooting lessons.
Opening the door Cassy’s brown eyes widened at the man that stood there, shocked beyond belief to see the scruffy face that hadn’t set foot on the doorstep in a year. “You’re back!!!” She finally hollered out, louder than usual with excitement. Not waiting a moment she threw herself into Sawyers’ arms.
