Thinking about the promised neverland and how gender influences the world these characters exist in. Too tired to form coherent analysis but something something Emma being raised in a farm where all the girls wear one uniform and all the boys wear another, being told at eleven that the only way out for her is to give up and start training to be a Mother. And then she breaks free, takes her family with her, starts wearing trousers instead of the skirts she was raised in, and gets a gun. Fucking fantastic you funky little shonen protagonist
