yeah I agreed with OP. it’s possibly true cuz mikey has been keeping everything he felt inside and never truly expressed it until someone or something pushed him into the corner; just like what happened in the valhalla arc where he expressed truthfully that he had a thought of killing off kazutora because of what he did to his big brother, so yeah this is definitely feel personal.
