Well, finally, it’s here. My pledge is complete.
Tomb Raider Suite Vinyl has finally arrived as a part of my pledge for Nathan McCree’s Kickstarter project. It’s been delayed horribly but at least the final product looks fantastic.
Having received my T-shirts, digital download, score sheet, booklet and posters, after getting the vinyl I only lack getting the Tin Deluxe CD. With that, my tier will be completed and fully sent.
Just saying this for those who claim TR Suite to be a scam. Sure, it’s been delayed beyond the tolerable, and Nathan’s not been professional at all when dealing with the project and giving feedback to his backers, but this is proof the project isn’t a scam. We’re getting our items.
Hi! First of all thanks for keep this temple of classic Lara. ♥️ Now the question. Have you seen in TRForums the letter from the former member of Tomb Raider suite? it breaks my heart to see that such a beautiful project has become a scam
Hi! :) First of all, thanks for calling my humble abode a “temple of classic Lara”. I think nothing more beautiful about it has been said. Thank you, it makes me wish to go on after having questioned myself if it was worth at all to keep this blog active.
Now, yes, about what you say, I entered the link yesterday. This is it for the people who’s not yet aware (it’s a long read). This same message has been posted, briefly, at the TR Suite KS page which is still up against all odds, provided that in the past many disagreement comments or criticism has been taken down and censored.
I recommend everyone to take the time to read all the message but basically the person who was in charge of the management of the KS project of TR Suite has left Nathan and called him out publicly because of terrible management, something that anyone could see anyway after two years of waiting to have their pledges delivered. Basically, Nathan McCree has spent all the money and the project is without funds since many months ago. That’s why all the constant delays in having our pledges delivered, the bad management, the amount of lies and bullshit told to justify the delays, and over all, the awful way Nathan has been treating many fans and contacts who honestly asked about it.
It is not funny because I, myself, am still waiting for my Tin DeLuxe CD and the vinyl, so my pledge has not been delivered entirely (I got the digital copy - in crappy quality sound, btw, as everyone else - a pair of T-shirts, a poster, a booklet and a score first page signed.) But of course I don’t have the CD and the vinyl yet and still waiting for them. And looks like, neither me nor anyone that ordered them are getting them anytime soon. Because there are no fucking funds left in the budget.
Now at this point I can only laugh at myself and sit down to read the reactions in TRForums.
Because it’s better to laugh than cry, I guess. The Tomb Raider Suite concert was a beautiful experience and I was very happy to meet Nathan, Shelley and get a signature from both. But since then my enthusiast about the project has been falling down because of the terrible management of the KS campaign and the rudeness in which Nathan has treated everyone. I could add a lot of more proof of how he’s been an absolute asshole to many fans - not me, particularly, but because I have avoided to engage with him after the first hints of bad behaviour - and how all the reasons and arguments he used to justify himself were not acceptable at all.
But anyway, I told myself, I’d wait. The updates have been coming and going, the delays coming and going, the rudeness, arrogance, unprofessionality growing stronger... so at this point I’m not even surprised in the slighest concerning what this person has revealed. Actually, I was fearing it long time ago.
As you say, it absolutely sucks that such a beautiful project has ended like this. Seems the classic TR fandom is cursed and there’s no way we can have nice things. I already knew Crystal and Eidos and Squeenix were not gonna move a fucking finger for us anymore; but the official TR composer from the first trilogy doing this crap, it’s something you don’t get to expect. But well, there it is. Bloody hell.
The worst thing, though; is that all this bad behaviour and unprofessionalism has unjustly damaged The Dark Angel Symphony and Peter Connelly. I was surprised to see how Meagan Marie and Crystal and Squeenix had supported TR Suite and Nathan so well and later, they mostly ignored TR Dark Angel and Peter; letting the first KS campaign fail and the second being successful only for the big efforts of loyal fandom.
There are fans still saying the way Nathan has behaved explains why Peter can’t be trusted and that the TR Dark Angel is gonna be the same fiasco TR Suite has seemed to be, which absolutely sucks because there are not the same campaign, managed by absolutely NOT the same team, and it’s not the same composer and person. Hopefully we’ll be getting something nice in the end and there will be a moment they realize how wrong they were. Specially because there are still fans defending Nathan’s awful behaviour which he has extended to Peter Connelly himself.
At this point I only want to get my CD and my vinyl and forget about TR Suite and Nathan forever. Will keep enjoying the music because it is and will always be beautiful, but meeting the composer has been a total mistake. And I am certain TR Dark Angel has nothing to do with this and it won’t happen the same with Peter.
Nathan Mcree Responds After Continued Tomb Raider Suite Kickstarter Back...
After heated backlash from backers, Nathan Mcree responds in an attempt to calm the masses.
Hey People, So, here we go! Two days to go before we enter Abbey Road Recording Studios and everything is in place. We have been working around the clock over the past 2 months to get the preparations finalised and now we are ready to Rock 'n' Roll! We have HD video cameras, photographers, live streaming, journalists, fans and a fantastic productions team ready for the greatest Tomb Raider event of the last 2 decades. On a personal note, I can hardly believe it's happening after all this time. I will try to post photos and updates on social media as often as I can during the two days. Please keep your eyes on the official Tomb Raider and Abbey Road social media channels for live streaming. Thank you so much, once again, to everyone who has supported this project so far. And so we go to Abbey Road! Regards Nathan.
Lara's been to Abbey Road before - for "Angel of Darkness" in 2002 Original Tomb Raider legacy composer Nathan McCree 's more-than-success...
The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Robert Ziegler, will be performing McCree's work as orchestrated by Adam Langston. Recording at the world famous Abbey Road Studios is booked across five sessions for Monday & Tuesday, October 16th & 17th, 2017. The release date of The Tomb Raider Suite was slated for November 2017, but this could meet delays to allow mixing, mastering and manufacturing.
