Tomb Raider's Main Themes by Nathan McCree & Peter Connelly
TR25 | Main Menu Series: “Tomb Raider”
🎮 | Tomb Raider (1996) 🎹 | “Tomb Raider Theme” by Nathan McCree
One of our goals for the 25th anniversary was to throwback to many iconic moments in the series and, honestly, what's more iconic than the main menus themselves? We’ve already shared this one last October but figured we should end the original Tomb Raider celebration month on a good note!
For the record, we're capturing every menu and will be sharing them each month its respective game is featured in. Getting the classics to run perfectly and in the best resolution has been quite an experience, but we're doing our best to get them up and running.
Anyway, we'd love to know: what's your favourite menu? Tell us in the replies or on our social pages in the sidebar! 👈🏻
Well, finally, it’s here. My pledge is complete.
So I teared up a little bit. I contributed to the kickstarter a couple years ago for the Tomb Raider suite. The kickstarter exceeded its goals and Nathan McCree got his wish. An orchestral recording of music from the first three Tomb Raider Games. I got the digital files via email once the recording and mixing process had finished. I had almost completely forgotten about the deluxe 2 disc tin reward for my pledge! I am not mad about the wait at all...At some point, I figured it would get sent out, as he emailed the backers every week with regular updates on the project. It was a pleasant surprise. I was actually a bit shocked as I didn't expect him to sign the tins! So that made my eyes water just a bit. And the letter got a happy tear to roll down. He'd wanted to do this for so long and the fans made it happen! Thank you, Nathan! It was worth the wait!
Artist Feature #14: Nathan McCree
Nathan McCree rose to fame with his work on the original Tomb Raider series, but did you know he started out as a programmer? Today, we’re going to explore his journey from programmer to Tomb Raider, and beyond.

Nathan McCree - The Tomb Raider Suite | Self-released | 2019 | Black
Why I love AoD soundtrack so much
Angel of Darkness main theme was inspired and beautifully composed of various soundtracks from the previous game. Everyone can agree that the Tomb Raider jingle was used plenty of times throughout the game but what stands out to me was this track particularly. It’s pretty short and can be easily missed.
Tomb Raider music to me has always been magical but even with the dark tone of AoD, this track still shines through with it’s whimsical chimes and mysterious flute. Still magical...but in a darker way which I really love. It sounded very similar to the colosseum track from the first game but with more dark and gloomy vibe.
I truly appreciate both Nathan McCree and Peter Connelly for crafting one of my childhood memories. It was absolutely brilliant~
